JONATHAN RENNICK
Coach Jon has been fencing since 1995.
In that time he’s competed in all three weapons, enjoying competitive success in foil and sabre. Jon is also a provincially-ranked referee in all three weapons and spent many years refereeing in Ontario.
Coach Jon was a founding member of Kanata Fencing. He began coaching in 2002 and took over as Head Coach of Kanata Fencing in 2010.
As a coach, Jon has helped coach his students to Provincial Championships in Ontario and Quebec, as well as National Veteran Champions. Jon has also had his fencers represent Canada internationally on multiple Canadian Veteran teams, including achievements such as a team Gold finish at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland. Jon continually builds on his coaching skills by attending international workshops (including the Chianciano coaching camp in Italy) and by studying fencing-related resources both past and present.
